The Roads and Highways Department (RHD) is implementing three mega projects in Chandpur at the cost of Tk 203 crores in the 2018-2019 fiscal year.  Officials of the department said that the projects were taken by the government for development of Chandpur.

Among the project, work of two projects is going to be completed. Road and Highways Department in Chandpur confirmed the matter as the tender process has already been completed. The work of the projects will begin soon, said the officials of RHD.

According to the information, the Roads and Highways Department will implement the project ‘Chandpur Gouripur-Kachua-Hajiganj Road’ worth Tk 49.22 crore. The work will be done within December 31.

Dowbhanga-Shaharsati-Panwala (Ramganj) will be implemented at the cost of Tk 49 crore 70 lakh 76 thousand taka. The work will also be done within December 3. Under the project titled Upgradation of the Highway Highway (Chandpur part), the cost of 104 crore 35 lakh 38 thousand will be implemented.

The work of Chatkhil-Chittoshi-Shaharasi road, Matlab Dhanagoda Beribandh road and Mudaffarganj-Chittoshi-Ramganj road will be completed in June 2020.

Meanwhile, the work of Matlab bridge on Matlab Dhanagoda river will be completed by December next year with the cost of 87 crore 84 lakhs.

The project of upgrading the important regional highway will be implemented as the cost of Tk 148 crore 46 lakh 24 thousand. The work will be completed in December 2019.
