Home Minister Md Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Sunday said when the country is on development highway, the militant activities are being conducted by the vested quarters.
He, however, opined that the all law enforcing agencies in a coordinated way combated the militancy from the country.
The home boss made the remarks while addressing a programme for launching anti-narcotics TVC by the anti-crime elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) at RAB Media centre in the city. The home minister said,”Like the militancy, we will eliminate the illegal narcotics from the society.”
Being instructed by the prime minister herself, the war against drug has started, he continued.
“We must win in the war,” he vowed. The home minister said, “Once the Department of Narcotics Control was a tiger without teeth. Now the DNC has been strengthened by increasing manpower and its capacities.”
“We have also taken initiatives for curing and rehabilitation of the drug addicts,” he added. Asaduzzaman Kamal said, “We must win over the ongoing war against drug. Otherwise, we will lose our path. The war will end when we are able to see the country which we had dreamt for.”
He said, “Where there is any illegal business, there are illegal arms and black money.” So it is very important to curb drugs from the society, he further said. Inspector General of Police Dr Mohammad Javed Patwari while addressing as a special guest said, “There must be anti-drug campaign also along with the anti-drug drives.” RAB Director General Benazir Ahmed urged the government to postpone the mobile banking in Cox’s Bazar to curb the illegal drug trading.
Director General of DNC Md Jamal Uddin, among others, addressed the programme.
