Even in a year of short celebrity engagements, much has been made of Chopra and Jonas’s whirlwind courtship: The two were only publicly dating for a few months before reports surfaced that Jonas rented out a Tiffany store to pick out an engagement ring for Chopra. But the two have known each other for almost two years, first meeting at an Oscars after-party in 2017. They reportedly texted for a few months before meeting in person.
The love duo tied the knot on December 1 and 2 in two separate ceremonies at Jodhpur’s Umaid Bhawan Palace. They first got married in a Christian wedding ceremony. On the second day, they got married again in accordance with Hindu wedding rituals.
For their mehendi, everyone was dressed in traditional Indian attire. Priyanka looked stunning in a radiant yellow chikankari sherwani designed by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, while Nick rocked a white silk kurta-pajama. Nick’s parents chose to go desi as well. Denise looked resplendent in a mint green salwar kameez while Paul, like son Nick, was in white kurta-pajama.
For their Christian wedding, Priyanka Chopra looked like a dream in her Ralph Lauren white bridal gown. Priyanka’s veil was 75-feet long making it the longest in the world ever. Her strapless column dress embellished with pearlescent sequins was overlaid with a hand-embroidered, high-neck coat with scalloped sleeves and satin-covered buttons. The embroidery reportedly included eight significant words and phrases selected by the bride, like “Family,” “Hope,” and “Compassion.”
For their second wedding, both Nick and Priyanka wore custom looks by Sabyasachi. Chopra wore a sparkling, crimson red lehenga made of hand-cut organza flowers, French knots in silk floss, and Siam-red crystals and her jewels included uncut diamonds, emeralds, and Japanese cultured pearls set in 22-karat gold. Nick also wore an ensemble by the designer, which featured a hand-quilted silk sherwani, a hand-embroidered chikan dupatta, and chanderi tissue safa.
At reception, Nick Jonas went with a blue velvet suit and Priyanka looked gorgeous in a silver-blush beaded lehenga designed by Falguni Shane Peacock. The piece also featured crystal hand embroidered motifs from the wedding in Jodhpur, including elephants, birds, flowers and butterflies. She accessorized her look with diamond earrings and a statement necklace.
PeeCee posted a few pictures of her wedding celebrations on her Instagram account, saying: “And forever starts now…”
