Skipper Farhad Reza put up an all-round show to help Prime Dholeshar reached the semi-final of the Dhaka Premier League as they defeated Gazi Cricketers by three wickets at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Thursday, report agencies.
Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club will take on Shinepukur Cricket Club in the first semifinal while Prime Bank will lock horns with Prime Dholeshar in the second semi-final at SBNS today.
Put into bat, Gazi made a bright start as Mehedi Hasan(39) and Waliul Karim added 51 runs in 5.3 overs before the latter was stumped trying to go for the big shots.
Prime reduced them to 66-3 in quick time. Prime again came back into the game as they dismissed Shamsur (36) and Touhid(26) in successive overs. Farhad picked 2-18 to make things difficult for Gazi.
