Zimbabwe skipper Hamilton Masakadza believes Bangladesh will be under pressure ahead of their second Test match on Sunday (today)at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.
Bangladesh lost the first Test match at Sylhet by a humiliating margin of 151 runs. Therefore, according to Zimbabwe captain onus will be on Bangladesh to perform and win the second Test match.
“The performance in the first Test gives us a lot of confidence. And going into the game ahead, it is always good for the team. We know that there will be more pressure on them (Bangladesh). So I am definitely very confident for this match,” said Masakadza during the pre-match press conference in Mirpur Saturday.
“We know Bangladesh will be hungry and they will come harder against us. They are a very proud team, and very good team. We expect a very tough battle. We expect them to come very hard to try to level the series. But we are also prepared to give them a good game,” he added.
“It will be huge for the team if we manage to win the series. We haven’t won a series in recent past and didn’t win too many games so it will be really a boost for the team if they come with a win here. We obviously came here looking for a result. If we get a result then it will be great for us,” Masakadza concluded.
