‘Youngsters will spread country’s glory across the world’

Minister of State for Women and Children Affairs Fazilatunessa Indira said, like the fragrance of flowers, the glory of the children of Bangladesh will spread to the world. These children of ours will grow up with a generous humanitarian spirit like Bangabandhu's Bangabandhu. Children are the future of the future and they will lead the country.

She said that the purpose of celebrating World Children's Day and Child Rights Week is to create a safe environment through awareness of child rights. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government is ensuring children's education and nutrition on the one hand. On the other hand, various laws, policies, action plans are being formulated and implemented for the protection, safety and rights of children. SDGs have been included in the government's 8th five-year plan. The government is working to achieve the SDGs through the development and protection of children.

State Minister for Women and Child Affairs Fazilatun Nessa Indira said this while addressing the chief guest at the closing ceremony of World Children's Day and Child Rights Week-2022 at Bangladesh Shishu Academy auditorium in Dhaka on Tuesday.

Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Children Md. Hasanuzzaman Kallol was present as a special guest in the closing ceremony under the chairmanship of Lucky Inam, Chairman of Bangladesh Shishu Academy. Afroza Khan, Managing Director of Joyita Foundation, Farida Parveen, Director General of Women's Affairs Department, Additional Secretary Dr. Mohiuddin Osmani and additional secretary Md. Muhibuzzaman and other officials of the ministry. Director General of Shishu Academy Md. Shariful Islam gave a welcome speech on the occasion.

In the speech of the special guest, Secretary Hasanuzzaman Kallol said that the government is providing allowance through the mother and child support program to ensure the nutrition of the child from the mother's pregnancy. The Ministry of Women and Child Affairs is implementing various programs for the welfare of women and children.

State Minister Fazilatunnessa Indira distributed prizes among the winners of various competitions on World Children's Day and Children's Rights Week. At the end of the discussion session, there was an interesting cultural program performed by children.

World Children's Day and Children's Rights Week-2022 Bangladesh Children's Academy, UNICEF, domestic and foreign children's organizations and development organizations organized various programs on the occasion of World Children's Day and Children's Rights Week. Conducting book reading sessions for children and teachers in 75 schools of Book Corner with the theme of Sisimpur organized by Sisemi Workshop Bangladesh. Drawing competition and debate competition organized by street child rehabilitation program, theme: We can stop child labor and exhibition of children's drawings. Webinar on “Integrated Action and Sustainable Development in Early Child Care and Development” organized by Bangladesh ECD Network (BEN), BRAC IED. CIPRB Organized Children's Rights: A Discussion on Preventing Child Drowning in Bangladesh Save the Children organizes policy dialogues with ministries of planning and children at the national level. Mural display, rally, painting and debate competition, discussion, prize distribution and cultural program organized by Jago Foundation and Aparajeya Bangladesh. SOS Children's Villages Bangladesh's children's poetry recitation, sports, tree planting program and visit to Liberation War Museum Dhaka with children and teenagers. Discussion organized by National Disability Forum and cultural programs performed by children with special needs.
