Heavy shower engulfed the Cox's Bazar area on the first day of the year 2020. In the morning, the whole sky was covered with black clouds. After that, the rain began. It was light raining at the beginning of the day and increases at noon. Except the main city of Cox's Bazar, every upazila of the district has been raining in the morning. The students, attendants and office-bearers who attended the book festival on the first day of the year have faced serious hassle as roads are filled with mud.
Assistant-Meteorologist Abdur Rahman said 11 mm of rain was recorded at the morning in Cox’s Bazar on Wednesday.
On the other hand, heavy rainfall was occurred on the first day of the New Year in Sylhet. School and office goers suffer a lot during this time. Meteorologists of Sylhet Met Office predict that cold wave will hit the Sylhet region very soon.
