Intelligence sources said the casinos were located at capital’s Motijheel, Gulshan, Uttara and Banani. He allegedly earned from Tk 2 lakh to Tk 5 lakh from each of the casino every night.

Sources said Samrat at the beginning of his career was a manager of a petty hotel in the capital. His two main accomplices, Zakir Hossain and Arman, were respectively a hotel boy and a hawker. Collecting the extortion money from those casinos as the representatives of Samrat, both of them now have become millionaires. Arman even owns two casinos himself. In casinos of Dhaka, the duo is familiar as the closest friends of Samrat.

According to intelligence sources, Arman consulting Samrat used to fix the amount of extortion that would be collected from the casinos while Zakir allegedly used to pay the bribes to different government officials and law enforcing personnel going to their offices.
