Anima Roy is one of the best Rabindra Sangeet singers in the country. Today is the artiste’s birthday. However, unlikeother times this year the artiste doesn’t have much planned on this special occasion, or so it might seem to others, but to her it is very much special indeed.
After her marriage, Anima never got a chance to celebrate her birthday with her father Kamal Roy and mother Mishti Roy. After ten long years Anima is going to spend her special day with her parents.
Due to Corona’s horror, Anima Roy did not leave her parents at their home in the capital’s Mohakhali and brought them to her home a few days ago, Anima said.
Commenting on her birthday, Anima Roy said, “This is the first time in ten years that I have been able to spend my birthday with my parents.
Since none of my brothers and sisters are in Dhaka and my parents were spending time alone in their home in this corona I thought for a moment that it was a great risk to keep the two of them alone in this horrible situation.
So I brought them to my house. It was during this time that my birthday came; my parents are with me on my birthday. I’m really happy that it cannot be expressed in words. With the blessings of my parents, I will be able to spend this birthday, what could be happier than this.”
Meanwhile, on the occasion of Anima Roy’s birthday, a Rabindra Sangeet sung by Anima will be aired on Channel-i this morning.
