Bangladesh’s Under-19 pace bowler Shoriful Islam said on Sunday that the pace-unit was successful against India in the ICC Under-19 World Cup as they consistently on the same area.

Bangladesh were on cue right from the word go. Shoriful Islam and Tanzim Hasan Sakib set the tone with the new ball, bowling disciplined lines and lengths. They kept the Indian batsmen in check because of which it paid dividends for Bangladesh with Avishek striking early and prising out Saxena.

Jaiswal and Verma weathered the storm, stitched a 94-run partnership to revive things for India. Bangladesh’s spinners kept exerting pressure in the middle overs barring Shamim. Even after Saxena’s departure, Jaiswal carried on but kept losing partners at the other end. Bangladesh came back strongly in the last 10 overs and Jaiswal’s wicket triggered a massive collapse for India as they lost their last 7 wickets for 21 runs. Some silly running and poor selection of shots has meant that they have been wrapped for 177.

“I felt well bowling with the new balls and we practiced a lot with the new balls,” Shoriful said reporters on Sunday. “We were successful because I bowled in specific zone,” he said adding that all the credit for their fielding goes to Faisal Hossain Dickens.

“Dickens Sir has been working a lot for last for two years. We are enjoying working with him,” he said “Our fans inspired us a lot. We enjoyed a lot. We got so much energy when the screamed Bangladesh. These things worked in the match,” he added.
