The Professional Football League Committee (PFLC) of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) met with the representing clubs of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) in an emergency virtual meeting at the BFF premises for beginning the second phase of the league on Sunday.

PFLC Chairman and BFF Senior Vice-President Abdus Salam Murshedy said, “We want to start the second phase as soon as possible. We want to complete the league but now it is stopped because of the dead lock across the country.”

“We don’t expect to abandon the league this year. The first phase already completed and now we must end the second phase,” he said.

“BFF and the league committee will plan a fixture within one or two days. If the lockdown will extend, the BFF has nothing to do. The teams will get one week to prepare themselves and the booters can be ready for showing their performance in the field,” he added.

Meanwhile, Dhaka Abahani Limited team manager Satyajit Das Rupu said, “I want the football will run in the field. The highest authorities will take the decision when it will kick off.”
