The US Embassy in Bangladesh is making sincere efforts to arrange a dedicated flight from here to New York on Wednesday for US citizens and their families who are stranded in Bangladesh due to suspension of international flight because of COVID-19, reports BSS.

American citizens, who are willing to go, is expected to fly back home in a tentative flight which is being planned by US embassy in Dhaka. This planned flight is expected to depart Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) on Wednesday on the way to John F. Kennedy International Airport in Queens, New York, according to a note posted at the US embassy’s official website.

The information in the post also says that the US embassy in Dhaka will e-mail their American citizens who have already registered their interest on embassy’s website (https://bit.ly/35bbXtW) with a link to the booking site for this flight when it becomes available.

Passengers must pay the airline directly for the cost of the flight, approximately 1,700 US dollars per ticket, using a US-based or international credit card, it added.

“We urge US citizens who wish to return to the United States to take advantage of this opportunity or be prepared to remain in Bangladesh until commercial flights resume,” said the US embassy.
