Visitors who have been in or transited through Bangladesh in the previous 10 days cannot enter the UK from 4am on 9 April.

British and Irish nationals, and third country nationals with residence rights in the UK arriving in England from Bangladesh will be required to quarantine in a hotel, the UK government said in a travel advice.

It comes following a rise of Covid19 cases in Bangladesh as elsewhere in the world.

The Bangladesh government, earlier, on Thursday announced passengers from Europe, except the UK, and 12 other countries would be barred to enter the country for two weeks from 12am of April 3.

The countries are- Argentina, Bahrain, Brazil, Chile, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Peru, Qatar, South Africa, Turkey and Uruguay.

The government has also taken strict measures to control the transmission of the virus.
