Two youths were killed by miscreants at Manirampur in Jashore. They were stabbed to death.
The deceased are Badal, 24, son of Muktar Gazi of Jayanta village in Jashore Sadar upazila and Abdul Ahad Ali, 25, son of Lokman Hossain of the same village.
The incident took place on Thursday (October 15) night at a field in Baropara village of Monirampur upazila.
The deceased were employees of Cable Company. Police believe the killings were caused by a dispute centering the cable business.
Manirampur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rafiqul Islam said Badal and Ahad were working on a dish line between the fields of Barpara village in Dhakuria Union. At around 7.30 pm, someone carried out a surprise attack with a sharp weapon, stabbed them at random and fled. Badal died on the spot. He died when he took the initiative to take Ahad to the hospital in critical condition.
Police are working to identify those involved. The cause of the incident and those involved will be identified very soon, the police official said.
