A man was stabbed to death by his rival group at Alonguri village under Itna upazila in Kishoreganj on Saturday over football playing.
The victim was identified as Md Miraj Miah, 50, son of Late Abdul Jabber of Alonguri village under Itna upazila in the district. Officer in-charge of Itna Police Station Md Mursheduzzaman confirmed the matter.
The body was sent to Kishoreganj 250 Bed General Hospital morgue for autospy. A case was filed in this connection with Itna Police Station, the OC said.
Meanwhile, a minor was slaughtered over land dispute at Austagram upazila in the district.
The victim was identified as Md Wasim, 2, son of Abdul Wadud Mia of village Dolarkandi under Kalma Union of Austagram upazila in Kishoreganj.
Austagram Circle Assistant Police Super Md Azizul Hoque confirmed the matter adding that the dead body was sent to Kishoreganj 250 Bed General Hospital morgue for autospy. A case was filed in this connection.
Police also arrested five men in this connection named Abdur Rajjak, Alkas Miah, Saiful, Sujon and Kaus.
