Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested two men with nine kilograms of ganja, 316 prices of yaba tablets and 180 bottles of phensidyle on Monday afternoon from village Kashiram in Kaliganj upazila of Lalmonirhat.
"On a tip off, an operational team of RAB-13 conducted a raid, seized the drugs and arrested the two persons from the spot," a press release circulated by Senior Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-13
Flight Lieutenant Mahmud Bashir Ahmed said.
During the raid, the elite force also seized three mobile phone sets and cash money from the possessions of the detainees.
The arrested persons were identified as Md. Zakirul Islam, 35, and Md. Shah Kamal, 38, of Lalmonirhat district.
During preliminary interrogation, the detainees admitted that they had been involved in drug trading in connivance with their other cohorts for a long time.
"After filing a case in this connection, the elite force handed over the arrested persons to Kaliganj police station in Lalmonirhat," the release added.
