Two decades on stage, first time in film

Kabir Tutul has been a member of the theatre troupe Dhaka Padatik since 1999. ‘Gadha Bazar’ under the direction of Debashish Ghosh was his first play on stage. After that he spent more than two decades performing on stage under the direction of several others, including SM Solaiman.

He acted for his first television drama in 2003 titled ‘Moishal Bondhu’. It was aired on BTV. After that, he acted in other TV dramas directed by various directors, namely, Salahuddin Lavlu, Kaiser Ahmed, F Zaman Tapas, Taju Kamrul, Anirudh Russell and others.

However, over the course of two decades of acting, this is the first time Kabir Tutul is acting in a movie. The film is titled ‘Encounter’. 

The movie was produced by Anirudh Russell. The story has also been written by the director. In the movie, Kabir Tutul plays the role of a police officer. Kabir Tutul said, "After a long wait, I finally got the chance to act in a good movie. Thanks to the director for giving me the opportunity to do a beautiful challenging role in this movie. I liked the making of the movie very much.”

The movie is set to be released early next year. So for now Tutul is just waiting to see himself on the big screen.
