The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-13) arrested two presumed members of banned militant organisation ‘Allahor Dal’ from Station Bazar area in Gaibandha district town in the early hours of Monday, reports BSS.

“On a tip off, a special operational team of RAB-13 from its Rangpur battalion headquarters arrested the militants from the area,” a press release issued here by Media Officer of RAB-13 Major Galib Muhammad Natikur Rahman said this evening.

The arrested militants are: Gaibandha Regional Nayek of the militant outfit Imtiaz Bin Zubayer alias Bishal, 24, of village Durgapur and its member Shujair Rahman Shuja, 42, of nearby village Adarshapara in Sadarupazila of Gaibandha district.

The elite force recovered a huge quantity of ‘Jihadi’ books and leaflets and two mobile phone sets from their possessions.

During interrogation, the arrested militants admitted involvement in conducting activities for the banned militant outfit in Gaibandha region since 2001, participating in secret meetings and enlisting new members for the extremist organisation. “After filing a case against the arrested militants, the elite force handed them over to Gaibandha Sadar Thana police this evening,” Major Galib told BSS.  adding that investigation continues to nab absconding members of the extremist organisation.
