An hour-long human chain was formed in front of the DC office in Jhalakathi on Wednesday protesting harassment and torture on journalists across the country. Jhalakathi Reporters Unity and Bangladesh Mofussil Journalist Forum jointly organized the human chain.
President of Jhalakathi Citizen Forum Shamsul Haque Monu, Organizing Secretary of Zilla Awami League Habibur Rahman Habil, Vice-chairman of Upazila Parishad Israt Jahan Sonali, Municipal Councilor Rezaul Karim Zakir, General Secretary of Bangladesh Mofussil Journalist Forum Ahmed Abu Zafor, Organizing Secretary SM Rezaul Karim, President of Jhalakathi Reporters Unity Al-Amin Talukder, Vice-president Atiqur Rahman along with others were delivered their speech during this time.
Leaders of the journalists demanding freedom of media, ensuring security for media men and exemplary punishment for those who involved in repression of Narail, Tangail, Khulna and Dhaka journalists'.
