Members of RAB-5 arrested a top arms trader from Ratanpur area of Panchbibi upazila of Joypurhat district on Wednesday morning.
At that time, RAB also recovered one foreign pistol, one shotgun, five rounds of ammunition and two magazines from his possession.
The arrested arms trader was identified as Abdur Rashid, 32, son of late Manser Ali of Ratnapur village of Panchbibi Upazila.
RAB-5 Joypurhat camp commander M M Mohaimenur Rashid said that Abdur Rashid was smuggling arms from India and selling those to terrorists in different parts of the country. On secret information, RAB members conducted operation in Ratanpur area and arrested him.
