Tk 54,000cr work underway in health sector

Abdul Mannan, Secretary of the Health and Family Welfare Ministry, said work worth Tk 54,000 crore was being done in the health sector. Hopefully the health sector will go a long way. Bangladesh will get 3 crore corona vaccine. 87 thousand doctors are working all over the country. The Health Secretary also remarked that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was constantly working to ensure health care for mothers and children.

He was speaking as the chief guest at a view exchange meeting with officials and people's representatives of various departments of Kishoreganj district and Sadar upazila at the conference room of Sadar upazila complex on Saturday (October 17).

Abdul Mannan said, “What may be more unfortunate than it if a driver can have 23 flats. They are more terrible than Corona. I love my country like myself. The government is working to rid the health sector of irregularities and corruption in this country.”

The health secretary further said that the health care recipients want services. There will be no compromise. We do not lack medical equipment but there is a shortage of technicians to operate the equipment. Measures will be taken soon to alleviate the crisis so that no patient is deprived of services.

Deputy Commissioner Md. Sarowar Murshed Chowhdury presided over the view exchange meeting. It was addressed among others by, Civil Surgeon Dr. Md. Mujibur Rahman, Kishoreganj Municipality Mayor Md. Parvez Mia, Sadar Upazila Chairman Mamum Al Masud Khan, Additional Police Super Mizanur Rahman, Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Md. Mustafizur Rahman, Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College Deputy Director Dr. Helal Uddin, Sadar Upazila Health & Family Planning Officer Dr. Tajrina Tayba, Sadar Upazila Family Planning Officer Mizanur Rahman, Journalist Saiful Hoque Mollah Dulu. The view exchange meeting was conducted by Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Abdul Kadir Mia.

Earlier, Health Secretary Abdul Mannan underwent treatment at Burungarchar Community Clinic under Sadar Upazila. Then he launched the Vitamin A + campaign.
