Tk 30 lakh, goods stolen from GP office

About Tk 30 lakh in cash and other goods were stolen from the Grameen Phone Distribution Office at Hossainpur in Kishoreganj. A locker and a door were broken and the money and the goods were stolen from the Grameen Phone Distribution Office on the second floor of Helal Master's five-storey house on Bangabandhu Smarani Road at Hossainpur on Tuesday (January 5) morning.

According to office sources, the employees working in the office came to the office as usual on Tuesday morning and opened the front lock and entered the office. They found officer locker and the door were broken and about 30 lakh taka in cash and other goods were stolen. The Grameen Phone Distribution Office  authorities immediately informed the Hossainpur police and informed the senior officer.

Hossainpur Upazila Grameen Phone Distribution In-Charge Tanvir Ahmed said, "Sales representative Babu informed me by phone that the office was ruined. You come to the office early." When I came to the office, I saw the incident and informed the distributor and was reminded by the police. Cash, mobile phones and scrach cards have been stolen.

Talking over telephone, Additional Superintendent of Police Hossainpur Circle Sonahar Ali said, "We have learned that a preliminary investigation is underway. Legal action will be taken according to the investigation.
