Bangladesh national team opener Saif Hasan and team’s English trainer Nick Lee has been infected with Covid-19. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) source confirmed the matter on Tuesday.
National team players underwent Covid-19 tests on Monday as part of BCB's coronavirus management plan to ensure cricketers' safety. The results of that test were found on Tuesday.
A total of 18 cricketers and 7 supporting staff were tested. Two of the cricketers were identified as corona positive.
Meanwhile, samples of 7-8 more supporting staff were collected on the second and last day of corona test.
The cricketers were scheduled to undergo a corona test from September 18 after the announcement of the squad for the tour of Sri Lanka.
However, individual practice of the cricketers was stopped as coach Yakub Ali Chowdhury got infected with corona. The BCB then decided to test corona of the cricketers and staff as a precaution.
