The upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder can answer one of the last remaining mysteries from Avengers: Endgame. Director Taika Waititi returns to the MCU and reunites with Chris Hemsworth following the success of Thor: Ragnarok. Thor: Love and Thunder will see Thor on his healing journey after the events of the Infinity Saga. Despite the focus on him, the film has a chance to address one of the lingering questions from the final fight against Thanos (Josh Brolin).
Marvel delivered a satisfying Infinity Saga ending in Avengers: Endgame, which was no small feat. Aside from the defeat of Thanos, the film also functioned as the swan song for some of the franchise's founding heroes in Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), and Captain America (Chris Evans). Before Avengers: Endgame’s happy ending, however, a massive fight broke out with all active players in the MCU against the Mad Titan and his minions. While the whole third-act battle of Endgame was full of memorable moments, it wasn't all that polished, leaving some questions that remain unanswered until now.
One lingering mystery from Avengers: Endgame's final battle is the origins of Valkyrie's (Tessa Thompson) pegasus. When Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Wong (Benedict Wong) transported all heroes to the ongoing fight at the Avengers compound, she arrived riding the mystical creature. The pegasus became even more useful as Spider-Man (Tom Holland) attempted to keep the Infinity Gauntlet away from Thanos. The film didn't explain, however, where it came from. While she once had a pegasus as seen in the flashback sequence in Thor: Ragnarok, it has long since died, or she had at least abandoned it. Now, as Thor: Love and Thunder explores Valkyrie's New Asgard, it has the opportunity to explain where Valkyrie got her pegasus in Avengers: Endgame. Perhaps the creatures are raised and farmed by the Asgardians, or they transported some after the original Asgard was destroyed in 2017. After all, Thor's goats, Toothgrinder and Toothgnasher, are also prominently featured in Thor: Love and Thunder.
Marvel Studios hasn't had the time to showcase what became of the Asgardian refugees following Thor: Ragnarok since the film directly led to the events of Avengers: Infinity War. In fact, it hasn't even been revealed how Valkyrie, Korg (voiced by Waititi), and other Asgardians escaped Thanos and the Black Order's attack. Thor: Love and Thunder can finally reveal New Asgard and how its dwellers have been settling on Earth. Based on the film's marketing campaign, not to mention Ms. Marvel's AvengerCon, it appears as if New Asgard has become some sort of tourist destination, perhaps all part of its effort to raise funds for their community. -Collider
