Teenager drowns in Pechar Dwip

A teenager drowned while bathing in the sea at Pechar Dwip Sea beach in Cox’s Bazar on Wednesday morning. The body of the teenager, Delwar Hossain, 14, was not recovered even after 24 hours have passed. The drowned schoolboy is the son of Sabbir Ahmed of Shonadanga, Khulna.

Inspector Atik Ullah, in charge of Ramu Himchori Police Outpost informed, the boy is the nephew of Abu Sadat Mohammad Lavlu, owner of a resort named Batighar in Pechar Dwip. The boy went to bathe in the ocean with his family members while he was caught in the ebb tide and drowned.

Md. Zillur Rahman, Superintendent of Tourist Police Cox’s Bazar zone, confirming the matter said, the resort is located far from Cox’s Bazar town so immediate measures could not be taken. However, Tourist Police and Fire Service men are working to recover the body there.
