Week-long ‘Income Tax Fair-2019’ will begin in Khulna and elsewhere across the country on November 14 aiming to extend tax related services and raise awareness on tax, reports BSS.
Like previous years, National Board of Revenue (NBR) is organising the fair. The fair will be taken place on Gymnasium of Divisional Women Sports Complex premises in the city. Commissioner of Khulna Tax Zone Proshanto Kunar Roy said they are organising the fair like previous years and for the first time they would introduce a website.
The taxpayers will be able to file tax returns and do other related tasks
at the fair. Tax officials will help the taxpayers in this regard, but they
(taxpayers) will have to bring the necessary documents only, he said. New taxpayers can collect e-TIN (electronic tax identification number) at the fair while other taxpayers also can collect e-TIN through re- registration, he added.
Separate booths will be set up at the fair venues for e-payment as well as freedom fighters, women, people with disabilities and elderly taxpayers. Like previous years, the government will be given honour of 77 highest tax payers in different categories in Khulna Income Tax Zone on November 13.
At the fair, One Stop Service (OSS) center will be served the taxpayers to submit their tax returns. ‘Fair’ will also be held at all 10 districts including 8 upazila of Khulna division simultaneously, it added.
