Tabith pledges to terminate mosquitoes

BNP-nominated mayoral candidate for Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), Tabith Awal, on Monday unveiled his election manifesto giving mosquito termination the top priority.
Besides, he made kept 95 promises on 19 issues to make Dhaka modern, intelligent and livable, while giving importance to removing traffic congestion, pollution and in favor of cleanliness.
“I’ll carry out mosquito repellent activities throughout the year, if elected. I’ll also work for reducing traffic jam and will take effective steps to stop air pollution in the city,” Tabith said while unveiling his election manifesto at Emmanuelle’s Banquet Hall, Gulshan-1 in the capital.

The incumbent government and mayors have failed to handle the mosquito issue, he said, adding that he will take steps to curb mosquito from the beginning of the year.

Tabith said he will take steps to ensure the rights and security of citizens and has plans to make ‘vertical garden’ and city-friendly agriculture project.

Apart from this, he promised to ensure safe food, safe water, public toilets, disaster management, amusement, housing, city administration and controlling crime in his manifesto.

Responding to a question on whether he will be able to implement the manifesto by staying on the opposition side, Tabith said, “It will be, if the people remain by my side.”

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal President ASM Abdur Rab, Nagarik Oikya Convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna and Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury, among others, were also present.
