Stocks rebound on both bourses

After witnessing a downward trend in the six  sessions, stocks on Monday rebounded in the Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges  as investors remained active on sector-wise issues. 

 After witnessing volatility, DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock  Exchange (DSE), went up by 21.62 points or 0.32 per cent to settle at 6,  795.51. 

The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 1.55 points to close at 1,430.88.  But the DSE 30 Index, comprising blue chips, fell 8.79 points to finish at  2,567. 38.

Gainers took a strong lead over the losers, as out of 372 issues traded,  238 advanced, 89 declined and 45 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading  floor. 

However, daily trade turnover plunged to Tk 7,081.89 million on the  country's premier bourse which was Tk 8,371 million. 

Beximco dominated the turnover chart, closely followed by GENEXIL,  BXPHARMA, BRAC Bank and Delta Life. ACMEPL was the day's top gainer, rising 9.96 per cent, while DSHGARME  was the worst loser, shedding 4.98 per cent. 

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also rebounded with the CSE All  Share Price Index - CASPI -gaining 39.28 points to settle at 19,877.28 and  the Selective Categories Index - CSCX rising 22.63 points to close at 11, 949.82. 

Of the issues traded, 111 declined, 150 advanced and 24 issues remained unchanged on the CSE.
