SSF demands cancelation of licences of ‘syndicate players’

Top leaders of Shommilito Somonnoy Front, BIARA held a press conference at Johur Hossain Chowdhury auditorium of National Press Club in the city on Monday. 

The leaders demanded cancellation of the license of the syndicate consisting of 25 members to ensure a transparent process in sending manpower to Malaysia.    

They recommended imposing legal punishment of the syndicate members for depriving the rights of the authorized recruiting agencies in the country. 

At the same time, they also lauded in favor of all the authorized manpower recruiting agencies to establish their legal rights in exporting manpower to Malaysia. Dr Mohammed Faruque, President of Sammilito Somonnoy Front placed 10-point demand for stopping the illegal manpower export business to Malaysia through syndicate.

“We are urging the government to regain the institutional right of the legal manpower recruiting agencies in exporting manpower at Malaysia through abolishing the syndicate system”, added Faruque.

He demanded for the amendment of the MoU between the governments of Malaysia and Bangladesh held on December last regarding the manpower export terms and conditions which are going in favour of the syndicate members.He also voiced for allowing all the authorized manpower recruiting agencies to send manpower export to Libya. The SSF President urged the government to close the Foreign Workers Centralized Management System (FWCMS) in exporting manpower to Malaysia.

He also demanded for ensuring the legal rights of all the authorized manpower recruiting agencies to send manpower as per the Competition Act 2012 and ILO Convention policy.

Reaz-ul-Islam, Sr. Vice President and Mustafa Mahmud, Secretary General of SSF were also present on the occasion.
