Speakers for creating awareness against cyber crimes

Speakers at an advocacy workshop in Rajshahi Sunday put emphasis on concerted efforts among all government and non-government organizations to fight against cyber crimes to protect the young generation. Both government and non-government initiatives are urgently needed to stop cyber crimes, they told the meeting titled “Prevention of Drug-addiction, Cyber Crimes and Militancy” in Rajshahi city.

Rajshahi Mohila Polytechnic Institute (RMPI) hosted the workshop at its conference hall. Large number of students and others concerned joined the workshop. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Tariqul Islam and its Assistant Commissioner Hafizul Islam and Police Inspector Abul Kalam Azad addressed the meeting as resource persons with RMPI Principal Omor Faruque in the chair.

The discussants viewed forging social resistance side by side with creating awareness among the parents and other guardians concerned against cyber-crimes has become an urgent need to protect the young generation from the dire consequences of the crimes. Present government has adopted various time-fitting measures to end cyber crimes. So, all the government and private entities concerned should come forward and work together to supplement the government endeavour, they added.
