Shopkeeper stabbed to death in Rajshahi

A shopkeeper of Maldah colony area of the city was stabbed to death by his friend on Saturday morning.

The victim was identified as Ramjan Ali (28) son of Abdur Razzak of Idgah Math area of the colony. He used to own a betel leaf shop in the area.

Nibaran Chandra barman, Officer-in-charge of Boalia Police station informed, Ramjan used to get an arrear bill from his friend Sohel son of Arman Ali of Maldah colony. Around 11-00 am on Saturday Sohel went to the shop of Ramjan when he demanded arrear bill from Sohel but without repaying the bill, Sohel locked into an altercation with Ramjan. At a stage of the altercation, Sohel stabbed Ramjan into her belly with a sharp weapon, injuring him fatally and managed to escape.

Local people took injured Ramjan to Rajshahi Medical Collee Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at around 11-30 am.

The dead body of Ramjan has been sent to the morgue of RMCH for autopsy. Police were trying to arrest Sohel.
