On the occasion of 90th birth anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's wife Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib, sewing machines and grants were distributed among poor, helpless and destitute women in Narail on Saturday.
Narail Deputy Commissioner Anjuman Ara was present as chief guest in the distribution ceremony which was held at Deputy Commissioner’s conference room organized by District Administration and department of Women's Affairs.
Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Sumi Majumder, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Salma Selim, NDC Md. Zahid Hasan were present as special guests at the function. Deputy Director of Women's Affairs department in Narail Md. Anisur Rahman presided over the occasion.
District women's affairs department sources said, 18 sewing machines were provided to 18 poor, helpless and destitute women in three upazilas of the district and a total grant of Tk 40,000 was given to 20 poor, helpless and destitute women in the district. Each woman got Tk 2,000.
