Rover scouting has been playing vital roles towards generating skilled human resources side by side with teaching the students about leading their life in a disciplined manner.
The present government lead by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has adopted various time-fitting steps for infusing dynamism into the activities of Bangladesh Scout.
Scouting experts came up with the observation while addressing the opening ceremony of a five-day Rajshahi district rover moot at Rajshahi University campus in Rajshahi city on Friday.
'Rovering for Flourishing of Humanity and Morality' is the slogan of the event. Around 336 students from 32 institutions are taking part in the camp splitting into 42 teams.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abdul Jalil attended and addressed the ceremony as chief guest, while Additional Director of Department of Narcotics Control Fazlur Rahman spoke as special guest with Rajshahi District Rover Commissioner Prof Iliash Uddin in the chair.
Regional Vice-president of Bangladesh Scouts Prof Santash Kumar Chowdhury and Treasurer Prof Selim Chowdhury also spoke on the occasion.
In his remarks, DC Abdul Jalil said the present government has taken the decision of scouting for inclusion in all educational institutions.
Apart from this, two cub scouts, scout and rover scout teams were launched in each of the institutions.
Abdul Jalil said scouting could make a positive contribution to keeping children and adolescents and youth safe and away from the poison of drugs and terrorism.
The guests also witnessed and enjoyed the march-past and physical display of the scouts on the occasion.
