Schools, colleges to be used as shelter centres during flood

The government has issued directives to authorities concerned to urgently open up all educational institutions including schools and colleges in flood prone areas to use those as temporary shelter centers, reports BSS.

The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) on Friday gave a notification to this end asking teachers, officers and employees of all offices and all government and non-government educational institutions under the DSHE in the flood-prone areas to work in unison with local administrations and flood management committees to extend necessary cooperation to them.

District education officers have been asked to send the lists of the number of institutions to be used as flood shelter centers to dsheflood2019@gmail, the concerned email of the directorate, the notification said.

The district education officers will also have to send information if any institutions get damaged due to the ongoing flood mentioning damage details and approximate quantity of loss in Taka in a chart given by the DSHE immediately after the improvement of flood situations.
