Russia offering scholarship for Bangladeshi students

65 Bangladeshi students will get opportunity to study in various Russian universities with 100 per cent tuition fee scholarship for higher study in various courses.

The Russian Center for Science and Culture (RCSC) in Dhaka disclosed this offer on Sunday at a seminar titled “Opportunities for Higher Education in Russia”.

The seminar was conducted by Syed Bazlul Hasan Rajib, the Head of the Education Section of RCSC while Maxim Dobrokhotov, Head of RCSC in Dhaka was in the chair.

Maxim talked on various issues regarding main activities of RCSC during the outgoing year, spoke about plans and answered many questions of journalists and participants in the seminar.

First of all Maxim noted that the Russian Center for Science and Culture focuses on educational activities, including the selection of candidates for Russian government scholarship programmes, adding that in 2020-2021 academic year the Russian authorities have allocated a total of 65 scholarships for bachelor's, master's and PhD students.

The Director of the cultural center assured that more 65 Bangladeshi students will get same opportunity if he or she is willing to go for higher education in Russia this year.

He pointed out that every year over 200 Bangladeshi citizens choose Russia as a place for higher education. Maxim also talked about the Russian Language Courses delivered by RCSC, which graduated many students last year, as well as about the joint activities with the Soviet Alumni Association Bangladesh (SAAB), which is working hard to promote Russian education, culture and science.

He said that there is a growing interest in Russian language education in Bangladesh. As a result, more than 100 students have taken part in the Russian language courses offered by RCSC last year.

Maxim Dobrokhotov spoke in detail about the “Opportunities for Higher Education in Russia”, which is being successfully implemented among Bangladeshi students for years.

As special guests, two participants of the above mentioned programme from Bangladesh Dr. Taibul Hasan Khan, the Former Professor of Department of History of Jahangirnagar University and Barek Kaisar, PhD Student of People's Friendship University of Russia talked about their practical experience in Russia to encourage the participants.
