Bishnu Kumar Odhikari, an assistant professor of Institute of Education and Research of Rajshahi University, has been accused of ‘sexually harassing’ a female student. The student filed a complaint in this connection.
Professor Mohammod Abul Hasan Chowdhury, director of the institute, said that they received the complaint adding that the verification of the allegation is going on.
While contacted, accused teacher Bishnu Kumar Odhikari said that he did not know anything regarding such of allegation.
In her complaint, the female student alleged that she had been harassed sexually and mentally in different way by her teacher Bishnu Kumar Odhikari. Without any reason, the teacher called in her to his office.
The student in her complaint further said that the teacher often made offensive and sexual comments in class room in presence of other female students of the institute about women and their bodies.
Noted, some female students of evening course of the institute earlier brought sexual allegation to the chairman of examination committee asking exemption from academic activities of that batch.
The complaint has been already sent to vice chancellor, pro vice chancellor, registrar, public relation office administrator and also student adviser.
