Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard seized 350 grams of gold and 100,000 pieces of yaba tablets from Leda area under Teknaf upazila in Cox’s Bazar on Friday night, says a press release issued on Saturday.
The Coast Guard members also detained a Rohingya youth named Md Rafik Ahmed, 35, in this connection.
On information, a team of the Coast Guard’s east zone conducted a drive at the area and detained the Rohingya youth with yaba and gold. Later, the detained youth was handed over to the Teknaf Police Station and the seized gold was handed over to customs authorities.
