A gang of robbers attempted to commit a dacoity at Rupali Bank Limited of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) branch on Thursday night, reports BSS.
Soaibur Rahman, manager of the Bank, said a group of masked robbers entered the bank around 12:00am and vandalised the close circuit cameras of the bank.
Golam Ruhul Kuddus, additional deputy commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police, said the robbers tried to break open the vault of the bank, but failed.
They also stabbed security guard Liton before entering the bank, leaving him injured, he added.
The security guard is undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital with severe injuries.
