Twenty-two fresh Covid-19 cases were diagnosed after testing 140 new samples with the positivity rate of 15.71 percent on Tuesday in the division.
Health officials said new Covid-19 cases have been reported everyday since last June 22 in the division.
The new Covid-19 patients include eight from Rangpur, six from Nilphamari, four from Thakurgaon and two each from Dinajpur and Gaibandha districts.
"With the diagnosis of the 22 fresh cases, the total number of Covid-19 patients rose to 64,274 here," Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Abu Md. Zakirul Islam.
The total number of recovered Covid-19 patients remained steady at 62,785 as no more patients healed during the last 24 hours ending at 8 am on Wednesday.
The number of fatalities also remained steady at 1,284 as no new death was reported during the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, more 6,777 doses of Covid-19 jabs were administered on Tuesday raising the number of inoculated vaccines to two crore 98 lakh 27 thousand and 471 doses in the division.
Among the 6,777 doses of the jabs inoculated on Tuesday, 285 were administered as the first doses, 1,333 as the second doses and 5,159 as the booster doses.
Dr. Islam called upon people to abide by the health directives and hygiene rules to remain safe from Covid-19 pandemic.
