Rajshahi frontier villagers keep vigil near zero point

Residents of various frontier villages including Char Khanpur, Char Asariadaha, Charkidirpur, Diar Manik Char are keeping watchful eyes at the frontier routes with the members of BGB to check any infiltration from India. They are watching the bordering routes from November 28 last. The villagers were keeping watchful eyes in shifts from 6-00 pm in the evening to 6-oo am in the morning.

Earlier on November 28, BGB members of Rajshahi-1 Battalion of Char Khanpur frontier outpost held a meeting with the villagers of Char Khidirpur and pursued the villagers to keep watchful eyes at the frontier to check any infiltration of Indian citizens as initiated by NRC. Ershadul Haque, local UP member informed, according to the proposal of BGB, the villagers got inspired and agreed to watch the frontier routes in shifts along with the BGB members. And from then, all the villagers were watching the frontier routes to avert any infiltration.

In charge of Char Khanpur frontier outpost of BGB Nayek Subedar Nazrul Islam informed, on last 27 November the BGB could learn that there might be infiltration of Indian citizens to Bangladesh through the frontier. As a result, he sat for a meeting with the UP members Ershadul Haque and Kohinoor Begum and the local villagers. In the meeting, villagers agreed to watch the frontier routes with the BGB patrol teams and from the same night they started vigilance at the frontier. A team of villagers were watching the frontier from 6-00 pm to 12-00 pm while another team of villagers were watching the frontier from 12-00 am to 6-00 am.

Jewel (28), a farmer of the village informed, he worked in the field at day time and watch the frontier at night. Every one of the village used to watch the frontier in shifts from 6-00 pm to 6-00 am.
