Rain, thundershowers likely

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind may occur at different parts of Bangladesh in the next 24 hours until 9 am on Saturday, Met office forecast.

In its 24-hour weather forecast beginning at 9 am on Friday, Bangladesh Meteorological Department said many places in Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places in Rangpur, Rajshahi and Mymensingh divisions might see light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty.

Moderately heavy to heavy falls at isolated places may also occur, BSS reports quoting the Met office.

Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it said.

The maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded 35.0 degrees Celsius at Sayedpur in Rangpur division and today's minimum temperature 24.1 degrees Celsius was recorded at Tetulia in Rangpur division.

Maximum rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6 am today was recorded 23 millimeters (mm) at Bogura in Rajshahi division.
