RAB-7 has arrested Robi Ullah alias Robi, a top robber from Kutubdia in Cox's Bazar along with four accomplices. One shotgun, five LG guns, a single-barreled gun, 19 rounds of ammunition and two swords were recovered from them.
RAB-7 Senior Assistant Director (Media) Md. Nurul Abshar confirmed the matter on Wednesday. Earlier on Tuesday, they were arrested from Ali Akbar Dale UP's Haser Ghona area.
The arrested are Robi Ullah, 40, son of late Kala Mia of Ali Akbar Dale area of Kutubdia, Nesar Uddin, 38, son of late Muzaffar of the same area, Md. Jasim Uddin, son of Md. Innamin Prakash Ibn Amin, Md. Khan (30), Rifat (2), son of Badshah Miah.
RAB-7 senior assistant director Nurul Abshar said they were members of an organized top robber gang. Robi Ullah is the head of this group. Robi Ullah salt field area preparing for a robbery at the machine house of Ali Akbar Dale UP's Haser Ghona area. The operation was carried out on the basis of such information on Tuesday afternoon. Top robber Robi Ullah and his four accomplices were arrested at the time. One shooter gun, 5 LG single barrel guns, 19 rounds of ammunition, 2 swords were recovered from them. He said that since Kutubdia is a remote and coastal area, the salt farmers forcibly occupy various fields including the fields for fear of arms.
According to the five arrested persons, the gang also carried out looting, snatching, stealing and robbery in Kutubdia area at gunpoint. There are 8-10 cases in each name. The arrested have been handed over to the concerned police station.
