Quader does not support ban on student politics

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said, Awami League is not in favour of imposing ban on student politics. "We do not support the ban on student politics but those who commit anarchy and resort to malpractice in the name of student politics should be brought under the jurisdiction of law," he said.

He said theses while talking to journalists at the Circuit House of Rajshahi on Sunday noon. He attended as the chief guest at the Rajshahi Divisional Conference of Awami League held here in afternoon. Obaidul Quader said that most of the politicians got their first lesson of politics during their student life. So , it is unlikely to severe the head to cure the headache.

He informed, in accordance to the directives of the Prime Minister, a Reform (Rectification) Campaign or vigilance has been started from inside the party. The reform is against drugs, gambling, tender manipulation, corruption and all sort of malpractices. Commenting on the Chairman of Jubo League, Obaidul Quader said, he has no idea whether he (Jubo League Chairman) was under scrutiny but he is not hiding but there are allegations against Jubo League leaders who were under vigilance, he added.
