Last year, starring popular actor Dilara Hanif Purnima in the lead role, a new film titled ‘Gangchil’ began its shooting in late October in Noakhali.

However, due to the sudden illness of the film’s story writer, Road Transport and Bridges’ Minister Obaidul Quader, the film had postponed its shooting. Now the shooting of the film has been scheduled to resume after Eid, informs the film’s director Nayeem Imtiaz Neyamul.

During the shooting Purnima met with a scooty accident, but the shooting was still taking place until Obaidul Quader’s sudden illness. Now, after his safe return to the country in good health, the film crew is taking preparations to start shooting of the film once again.

About the film’s shooting, director Nayeem Imtiaz Neyamul said, “As the story of the film is based on Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader’s novel and he is one of the prominent politicians in the country, we were at a loss with his sudden illness and thus, considering his condition, we stopped the shooting of the film.”

“Now, he is in good condition and has returned among us. It is a good news for us and we are all taking preparations to complete the shooting of the film right after Eid-ul-Fitr”, he added.

Taking preparations for ‘Gangchil’, Purnima said, “I have learned to operate Scooty for the sake of this film, and while driving the Scooty, I had met with an accident. Still, we were trying to complete the shooting on time. With the grace of almighty Allah, Obaidul Quader is back among us in good health and we will soon resume the film’s shooting. We are hoping to continue its shooting right after Eid-ul- Fitr.”
