A public hearing was held in Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila's Barogaon Union No. 4 on dividing the union into two unions on Saturday morning.
Thakurgaon Deputy Commissioner Dr KM Kamruzzaman Selim, Additional Deputy Commissioner Aminul Islam and Upazila Executive Officer Abdullah Al Mamun conducted the public hearing held at KK Lakshmir Hat High School premises.
Sadar Upazila Chairman Arunanshu Dutta Tito, Ruhia Police Station Awami League President Partha Sarathi Sen, local UP chairmen, members and public representatives were present on the occasion.
It is to be noted that Barogaon union is divided into two parts by Senua river. Therefore the residents of that union have to face difficulties to get services from the union council. So, a proposal was sent to the ministry to split the union and the public hearing was held to find out local's opinion.
