‘Public financial management got a unique feature in govt system’

“The Public Financial Management got a unique feature in government system. Our financial process starts from the parliament and the entire PFM system in a detail manner for the participants and students of this arena”, said Mohammad Muslim Chowdhury,  , Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh.

He was addressing a Webinar as chief guest on “Public Financial Management in Bangladesh” on Sunday organized by the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB).

Md. Mamun-Al-Rashid, Member (Secretary), Industry and Energy Division of Planning Commission joined the webinar as special guest.

While addressing Md. Mamun-Al-Rashid said that, Expenditure management is a key issue for government, especially developing countries needs to focus on this process very much. He emphasized on procurement plan and described its importance for the development process on the basis of his diverse experience. 

ICMAB President Md. Jasim Uddin Akond FCMA emphasized particularly on ensuring Cost Audit Certification by a professional CMA firm or professional for every listed companies. 

He said that CMA professionals can create a great impact by putting their expertise for ensuring clarity in various economic aspects. 

He called upon all to create more scope for the CMA professionals in relevant fields so that they can give their effort for the development of this country.

AKM. Jashim Uddin FCMA, Former Director General Foreign Aided Project Audit Directorate gave a detailed resentation on “Public Financial Management in Bangladesh”.
