Private investment to achieve higher growth stressed

Experts at a meeting Tuesday underscored the need for increasing investment of the private sector to achieve the higher GDP growth.They said this while speaking at the meeting on “Small Loan, Entrepreneurship Financing and Investment” at the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) conference room in the city, said a press release. Principal Coordinator (SDG Affairs) of the Prime Minister’s Office Md Abul Kalam Azad attended the meeting as the chief guest with BIDA Executive Chairman Kazi Aminul Islam in the chair. Abul Kalam Azad said small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are playing a vital role to develop the country. “So, we will have to provide all sorts of support to develop the SME sector,” he added.

Aminul Islam said private sector is playing an effective role to develop the overall economy of the country.“Private sector is essential for development. Seventh Five-Year Plan and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are providing emphasis on private sector,” he added.
