President, PM mourn death of singer Khalid Hossain

President M Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have condoled the death of Nazrul Sangeet exponent, researcher and Ekushey Padak winning singer Khalid Hossain. In separate condolence messages, the head of the state and the head of the government expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Khalid Hossain, who breathed his last at National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) in the capital on Wednesday night.

Recalling his contribution to the field of music, especially Nazrul Sangeet arena, with due respect, President Hamid, who is now on an 11-day visit to London and Germany for health check-up, said, “His death is really an irreparable loss to the field of music.” The president prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
