Prabir Mitra recovers from coronavirus

Veteran film actor Prabir Mitra was infected with the corona virus. On June 22, the virus was detected in his body. Since then he was in the hospital. However, he returned home on Tuesday (July 7) after recovering.

The matter has been confirmed by Sonia Islam, wife of Prabir Mitra's eldest son.

She said, “Last month my father-in-law was at the house of one of our relatives. After returning home from there, he got a fever and cough in his chest. Later I came to know that not everyone in the relative's house is positive. And when everyone in our house is tested immediately, only the father's result came out positive.”

She added, “As soon as we got the result, we admitted him to the hospital. It didn't go too bad. But there was need of oxygen support once. Then he recovered. He was brought home on Tuesday.”

The actor, popularly known for 'Rangin Nawab Sirajuddaula', has not been able to appear in the world of shooting for a long time. He is suffering from arthritis of the knee. His nearly half-century career in film got much recognition through receiving National Film Award.

The 65-year-old actor has acted in more than 300 films in his long career, including ‘Titas Ekti Nodir Nam’, ‘Mintu Amar Nam’, ‘Joy Porajoy’, ‘Protigga’, ‘Protihingsha’ and many others.
