PM sets example in humanitarian aid in pandemic: Razzaque

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina established a unique example in the whole world by providing humanitarian assistance including food and cash to the helpless, poor, destitute and unemployed people during the Covid-19 period in a successful method, said the Agriculture Minister Dr Md Abdur Razzaque.

Agriculture Minister made the remark while speaking as the chief guest at a programme of distributing food items among the poor and helpless people, destitute families and beneficiaries under the VGF program on the occasion of Holy Eid-ul-Azha at Dhanbari upazila of Tangail from his official residence on Saturday.

The Minister said the lockdown imposed to prevent coronary infections has narrowed the income streams of working and low-income marginalized people. In addition, many people have become unemployed. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been by the side of these people since the beginning of Corona with food and financial assistance.

Minister further said that there is no cry for food in the country. Even then, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is providing food aid to more than 10 million families on this Eid-ul-Azha. Eid is a day of absolute joy and happiness. 

The Prime Minister wants that not a single person in the country has to go without food on the day of Eid. Therefore, like every year, the Prime Minister is giving food aid to helpless people and needy families before Eid. Dhanbari Upazila Chairman Harun Rashid Hira, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. SamiulHaque, Upazila officials and local people's representatives were present on the occasion.

Earlier, the Minister virtually was the chief guest at the distribution of food items among helpless people, needy families and beneficiaries in Madhupur Upazila of Tangail. 

Madhupur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shamima Yasmin, Municipal Mayor Siddique Hossain Khan, members of Upazila Parishad and Upazila level officials were present on the occasion.
